Marbury Vs. Madison (1803)- President Adams gave William Marbusy commission as Justice of Peace, James Madison would not let Marbury have this and Marbury said he would sue him to have a hold of the Justice Of Peace.
- Verdict: The Supreme Court wouldn't give commission to Marbury, Case was lost.
Brown Vs. Board of Education- Linda Brown traveled miles to get to school each day, when white children had to only travel a couple blocks from their homes rather then a long distance like Linda Brown had to travel.
- 1 out of 5 cases charging segregation in education was being violated of the equal protection of the 14th amendment.
- Verdict: Lost. Seperate but equal does not exist in schools.
Gideon Vs. Wainwright.- Gideon was charged with being a felon for breaking and entering, he could not afford a lawyer and asked the courts to appoint a lawyer to him, they refused to do so.
- Verdict: Win. The right to a fair trial, 6th Amendment.
